The Thought

October 31, 2017

One-point English

「It's the thought that counts.」

例えば、すでに持っているものを貰う時「It's the thought that counts.」

Why did grandma give me an Anpanman toy? I'm 10! I love Yokai Watch, not Anpanman!

母: Hey! It's the thought that counts. Your grandma is very old, and very senile.

友A: John, bought me tickets to see the new Blade Runner for my birthday... but I've already seen it.

友B: It's the thought that counts. Just go see it again.

That's it!
