Wooooo!

September 8, 2017

こんにちは〜

仙台のプライベート英会話講師&翻訳者デイブです。

今日の話題は:All English

So, it's been a while since I wrote one of these all english blog updates. In fact, I think this may be only the second one! I promise I'll write more of these in the future!

Anyway, the reason that I decided to write an all english update is because yesterday something very special happened.

I got permanent residency!

These is a really big deal. All foreigners that live in Japan for a long time, or forever, want to get permanent residency. If you have permanent residency you no longer need a visa, and of course you don't have to renew a visa. I am still an American citizen and that will never change, but now I have permission to live in Japan until I die! Woo!

Permanent residency is also extremely beneficial for many things that involve money. My wife and I are searching for some good land to build a house and having permanent residency is absolutely vital for securing a loan. Without it, banks won't even consider my income and will only look at my wife's.

Either way, I am overjoyed and wanted to express my happiness here.
